#Privacy: João Torres Barreiro studies the AI road ahead at PrivSec London

João Torres Barreiro, Chief Privacy Officer at Willis Towers Watson tackles the pressing points and key controversies within AI-driven developments at PrivSec London, coming to the QEII Exhibition Centre on February 4th and 5th 2020.

In his keynote, “Artificial Intelligence & Privacy: The Perfect Storm”, João will be exploring ethical challenges within AI, asking how surveillance practices can be reconciled against evolving data privacy laws. Delegates will be able to put their questions to João in a Q&A following his talk.

Besides his role as Chief Privacy Officer (Global) at Willis Towers Watson, João Torres Barreiro is also a member of the Consultative Expert Group on Digital Ethics in Insurance of the EIOPA (European Union Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority), and a member of the European Advisory Board of the IAPP (International Association of Privacy Professionals).

At Willis Towers Watson, João established a global Privacy Office, a team of privacy legal counsels and country data protection officers, whom, in partnership with privacy champions in business, are responsible for making privacy a true business enabler.

João serves as the strategic legal advisor to most senior heads of business and corporate functions (in particular Office of the General Counsel, Chief Information Security Officer and Chief Data Officer) on all privacy matters.
